Fake Pix receipt / scheduled Pix scam : fonctionnement, signaux et que faire

The scammer buys something and, instead of paying, sends a doctored screenshot of a Pix receipt, or a receipt for a scheduled Pix set for a later date that they cancel afterwards.
They push to take the item immediately ("Pix is sometimes slow", "I already sent it, look"). Because the receipt looks real, the seller releases the goods without checking the statement.
A variant is the "Pix sent by mistake": someone claims they overpaid or paid you by accident and asks for a refund — sometimes there is no credit at all, or the credit is later disputed as fraud, leaving the victim out of pocket twice.
Sinais / Signs
- The buyer sends a screenshot instead of you seeing the credit in your own app.
- Receipt marked "scheduled" or with a future date.
- Rush to collect the item before you can check.
- Request to return a "mistaken Pix", sometimes to a different key.
- Odd fonts, amounts or bank names on the receipt.
Prevenção / Prevention
- Only hand over goods after you see the amount credited in your own bank statement.
- Turn on incoming-Pix notifications in your banking app.
- Refuse scheduled-Pix receipts as proof of immediate payment.
- If you receive a "mistaken Pix", don't send money to a key the person gives you: use your app's refund function or talk to your bank.
- In retail, use dynamic QR codes or a terminal that confirms payment automatically.
O que fazer / What to do
- Call your bank right away using the official number (back of the card or in the app) and ask to block cards, accounts and access.
- If you paid via Pix, ask your bank to open a MED (Special Return Mechanism) claim as soon as possible — time matters because funds move fast.
- File a police report (many Brazilian states accept online reports) and keep screenshots, receipts, numbers and links.
- Report the profile, ad or number to the platform (marketplace, social network or WhatsApp) so it gets taken down and others are protected.

How can I tell if a Pix receipt is fake?
The only reliable test is checking your own bank statement in the app. Screenshots can be edited and scheduled receipts don't guarantee payment.
I received a Pix by mistake and was asked to return it. What should I do?
Confirm in your statement that the money arrived and use the Pix refund option in your app, which returns it to the original account. Don't transfer to another key or person.
